Whippany Railway Museum

This museum has over 15 trains and other railway artifacts on display. It features a 1904 freight house, the 1911 Watch Box, signal gates, air raid sirens, and other antique train equipment. Morris County Central Railroad Museum

The Whippany Railway Museum is located at the junction of Route 10 West and Whippany Road and is open on Sundays from April to October. It is the home of a variety of railroad artifacts, including the museum building, grounds, and rolling stock collection. The Whippany Railway Museum is the result of the merger of the Morris County Central Railroad Museum and the Pequannock Valley Transportation Museum. The museum reopened in the fall of 1985.

Underground Railroad Society of Burlington County

The Underground Railroad Society of Burlington County has two sites in town. One is the James E. Bonine House and the other is the Carriage House. The Essex Steam Train & Riverboat has announced the dates for its 2022 North Pole Express. The train operates Wednesday through Sunday, and from Nov. 18 to Dec. 18. The ride costs about $50 per person and tickets range from $45 to $75 for first-class seats. The train also runs a half-car and a quarter-car, with 16 seats each. You can purchase tickets online.
