The Rail Museum of New Jersey

The United Railroad Historical Society of New Jersey is slowly but surely getting closer to its goal of outfitting a building in Boonton, NJ with enough space to house some 65 historic trains representing the state’s rich railroad history. That would mark the first time that an operating rail museum has ever been built in New Jersey, a dream that historians have pursued for more than 40 years. The museum will serve as the start of a statewide transportation museum that will eventually include an indoor display building and tracks to let visitors ride the restored historic train cars.
